We left Toronto on September 7th and moved to our new home in Tartu. The location is great!
Tartu is a very small town in a small country at the very north East of Europe.
Joan started his job immediately, and the kids were accepted in the English International School.
Slowly making new friends at school and in the dog park, although the official language is Estonian, most young people speak enough English to be understood.
Tartu is a very green city, lots of parks and green areas all around. And we live across one of the nicest dog parks in the city, and 2 min walk to the biggest skatepark of the city! There is also a BMX area, an outside gym with a a rock climbing ball and a few slack-lines and lots of walking / rollerblading and later in the year it will be skiing trails. Ginger loves it!
We take long walks along the river and into the fields every day.
We keep positive and hope we can adapt and survive the dark long winters of this tiny country. Of course beginnings are never easy, but we try to make it work just fine. No matter how reserved and how quiet the population here is, we will insist and bring some smiles!
