Once more, we took advantage of the "Thanksgiving long weekend" to getaway of the city.
We were 5 days in Killarney Provincial Park South (See map route further down)
We started at George Lake and we made our way over a couple of easy portages and through Free-land Lake to Killarney Lake did a loop across O.S.A lake and back through Three-narrows Lake and back to Killarney Lake where we did a famous hike to the top of the "crack" before returning to our starting point.
The extensive lakes and the white quartzite hills are perfect to explore in this season. The fall colours were just starting to show. And in the middle of mushroom season, we were even able to fill up our tummies with delicious local mushrooms.
We tried to fish, but didn't catch a big enough fish to grill and eat, just small bass that we had to put back to the lakes.
The kids found a lot of branches already cut in a pile in one of the sites and made their own playhouse.
It was sometimes rainy and sometimes sunny, but we always warmed up by a nice fire at nights.
On the very last day, we parked the canoe and gear and did a portage to join the trails that lead to "the crack" running/jogging up the trails, hopping from rock to rock, we reached the high towering rock walls and further up:
The most spectacular views in all of Killarney Provincial Park. Views to the lakes we had been canoeing in, with several white hills and woods. We had a picnic and sat down to enjoy the scenery on our very last day of this adventure.
Amazing videos and wonderful trip!!!
